What does Barcelona Media do?

Barcelona Media - Innovation Centre is at the disposition of the whole of the communications industry, the universities, research centres and public institutions. We know that the increase in innovation in the industry depends enormously on the capacity for mutual knowledge and on the coordination between these three pillars. For this reason the emphasis in our services is on enabling the different actors in the industry to meet.

The activity of Barcelona Media is based on four axes.

Acting as a neutral point to foster collaborative R&D projects.

We administer proposals for collaborative projects.
We foster the formation of consortiums by bringing together different companies and organisations with common objectives.
We have promoted the creation of a cluster of bodies called the Association of Innovating Businesses Barcelona Media (Asociación de Empresas Innovadoras Barcelona Media). Its reach will be extended in order to offer all those companies in the production system the possibility to improve their links with other suitable entities, and so boost productivity.

Acting as a bridge between academic and industry research.

We aid our clients to determine their strategic needs and to identify those research projects that will give them an ambitious return within a reasonable period of time.

Providing companies in the communications industry with innovative factors in the development of new goods and services, and institute more efficient production processes.

We apply the results of the most up to date research carried out in the communications field to the specific needs of business and institutions. In order to do this, we have three specialised service laboratories.

Promoting and executing R&D+i projects

We present proposals and/or carry out projects for most public calls for proposals on a regional, state (CIDEM, PROFIT, CENIT, etc.) and European level.
We offer companies and university research groups a service for preparing proposals for the various public calls for proposals on a regional, state and European level. We also offer a service for promoting, developing, preparing and administering projects.
