From 01/10/2008 – 31/12/2010.

IPRACINE

The goal was to produce a musical scene with flamenco musicians in a virtual loft, in the framework of the European project IPRACINE. For this, the flamenco musicians were recorded in front of a chroma key, and the acoustics of a virtual loft in New York was generated artificially. The final result was rendered in 3D audio. Here rendered in binaural, so it should be listened over headphones to get the full 3D audio experience. October 2004 - March 2008

Detection of objects: logos in football

Video inpainting

This video shows the technological application of inpainting to delete the text content from the image and automatically fill in the deleted zones throughout the sequence.

Video inpainting and segmentation

This video illustrates a video inpainting process aided by segmentation. On the left we show the input video. The object highlighted in blue, is to be removed from the scene. The object highlighted in red, has been identified as being partially in front of the blue object. The background behind the object is inpainted in a seamless and time-coherent manner. The right video shows the inpainting result.

3D reconstruction and synthesis of new views using various views from the same scene

This video shows the generation of a virtual camera in movement while the scene is paused by means of the reconstruction of multiple views using 5 original videos that show the scene from different angles of view.

3D Geometry and texture map recovery

This video shows results from the FINE project for the 3D reconstruction of scenes from multiple images in video. The overall process from capture to rendering is described.

Generation of multiple views (generation of stereo pair): Image rendering based on depth

This video illustrates the entire process for the generation of stereo image and multiple views from an image and its depth, developed as part of the 2020 3D Media project.

Massive text analysis: news

The goal of this demonstration is to let people know about the relevant elements that can continously be seen in the main online media. With this purpose in mind, RSS are gathered from different means (La Vanguardia, Publico, RTVE, Tele 5, Yahoo!, 20 minutos, ABC, ADN, Antena 3, El Mundo, El País, el Periódico and La Sexta) and a basic linguistic process is carried out with the information available. This linguistic process includes the detection of entities and bigrams in the body of the news available, together with the detection of names, verbs and adjectives in the headline. Finally, we can see the evolution of all these concepts detected over time. (Demo optimised for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers)

Article clustering

The goal of this demonstration is to enhance the potential of document grouping technologies. In order to reach this goal, we use reviews about cars by users. These users give a mark about the aspect they are discussing. The texts are automatically processed in such a way as to be able to see the evolution over time of the global polarity and document groups by topics depending on their polarity. This interface enables users to see the outstanding topics at a given time and how these topics vary. (Demo optimised for Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome browsers.)

Annotating documents with UIMA

This video illustrates the process for annotating documents by means of the UIMA process. The process shown includes the gathering of data, sentence segmentation of the data, the segmentation of the data into tokens (or minimum units of lexical information), the identification of Parts of Speech (i.e. morphosyntax) and headwords (or root words) and the identification of the entities named. Finally, the annotated texts are exported for analysis. The video also illustrates how to visualise the different levels of annotation, always carried out in the format of metadata, i.e. without modifying the original content.
