Barcelona Media’s International Scientific Committee comprises eight experts from prestigious universities and leading companies in the media industry from around the world. Its mission is to ensure the direction of the research and development carried out by the technology centre in accordance with international standards, advise on areas for improvement and check the quality of the work carried out, from an objective and highly demanding professional standpoint.

Specifically, the International Scientific Committee is made up of Jonathan Aronson, University of Southern California; Jaime G. Carbonell, Language Technologies Institute at Carnegie Mellon University; Manuel Castells, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya and the University of Southern California; Angelo Farina, Università degli studi di Parma; Paulette McManus, University College of London; Christophe Pallier, Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique; the international expert Prabhakar Raghavan; and Peter Sturm, INRIA Grenoble, Rhône-Alpes.
