Researchers of PATExpert European project celebrate a seminar in Vilobí d’Onyar

Researchers of the PATExpert European project coordinated by Barcelona Media (BM), have a meeting these days to celebrate the seminar “PATExpert paraphrasing and summarization framework exploitation and dissemination”. The encounter is from 5th to 11th July in Vilobí d’Onyar (Girona).
Between the participants, there is Igor Mel’cuk, professor of the Linguistic and Translation Department of the Montreal University (Canada) and one of the more distinguished linguist on an international level, and Bernd Bohnet, professor at the Stuttgart University (Germany).
PATExpert (Advanced Patent Document Processing Techniques) takes part of the IST – VI Sixth Framework Program and its aim is change the paradigm currently followed for patent processing from textual to semantic (viewing patents as multimedia knowledge objects).
In this project, which is three years long (01/02/2006 – 31/07/2008), take part eight partners from five countries, coordinated for a Barcelona Media team, leaded by Leo Wanner.
