Jul 04, 2008 - BM news
The Barcelona Media (BM) Virtual Visualization Lab has created the virtual simulation of the new headquarters for the Comissió del Mercat de les Telecomunicacions (CMT), in the technological district 22@, in Barcelona. The 3D visualization of the new building was used to present the future headquarters, in an institutional event held on 3rd July, in which the Industry Minister, Miguel Sebastian, the Barcelona Mayor, Jordi Hereu and the Generalitat president, Jose Montilla took part.
The CMT is the first big state agency that is decentralized and placed out of Madrid. The new headquarters of the regulator organism – provisionally settled in the Mapfre tower, also in Barcelona – has got 12.000 m2, distributed in a ten store and three basement building and the renovation of Can Tiana, which will hold an auditorium and serveral services.
22@ simulation
The (BM) Virtual Visualization Lab (Lv2), directed by Michele Marino, has carried out the complete virtual representation of the new CMT and the corresponding video and 3D production. The laboratory has taken part in the global project for the town-planning development of the 22@ district. In particular, it has developed the detailed virtual simulation of the blocks in this urban area of Barcelona which holds the Parc Barcelona Media, managed by Barcelona Media, addressed to promote the implementation of industries and services linked to the new technologies and the communication sector.
The Lv2 creates tridimensional graphic simulations, managed in real time, mainly using video games technologies. The laboratory teams generate virtual scenarios and spaces, they reproduce urbans environments, they develop interactive editors and they design specific courses and tools for the virtual training, among other productions.
