The Brazilian musician Paulo Jobim ─ the son of Antonio Carlos 'Tom' Jobim, considered one of the leading international representatives of Bossa Nova ─ has visited the head office of Barcelona Media (BM) to consider future collaborations in Rio de Janeiro.

Jobim, accompanied by his wife Elianne, discussed with representatives of the BM Culture Laboratory the possibility of creating a project that would make his father's archive more attractive; the archive is located in the building adjoining Rio de Janeiro’s Botanical Gardens, together with collections of other Brazilian artists. Tom Jobim's archive is comprised of videos, audio recordings, drawings, photographs, manuscripts, personal notes, sheet music and correspondence of the Brazilian musician, and which can be accessed on the website www.jobim.org.

As part of his visit to BM, Paulo Jobim was also informed about other initiatives in the centre, such as the audio group, directed by Adan Garriga, and which is part of the Audio Laboratory, and the current projects of the Visualisation Laboratory, directed by Michele Marino. Sergi Jordà, from the Musical Technology Group at Pompeu Fabra University and the musician Carles López showed Jobim how the reacTable works ―an electronic musical instrument created under Jordà's supervision.

Paulo Jobim, together with his son Daniel and the drummer Paulo Braga ―the Trio Jobim― took part in Milton Nascimento’s concert on 29 April in Barcelona's Palau de la Música.
