Vicente López: “For innovation to take place, both artistic and scientific creativity are essential"

Fortune magazine mentions Barcelona Media’s role and quotes comments of Vicente López, director general of BM, in May special issue, dedicated to the 500 America’s largest corporations.

The influential North American publication contains a dossier dedicated to Catalonia, entitled “1st class destination”, which emphasizes the media sector’s impact in the whole of the Catalan economy. The magazine states that “Barcelona Media provides a central forum for the communications industry, universities, research centers and public institutions to come together, share knowledge and bring projects to fruition”.

The Fortune’s report reminds that Barcelona Media set up six years ago as a non-profit organization and “has grown as the industry has taken off”. In this way, Vicente López declares that “for innovation to take place, both artistic and scientific creativity are essential”. The director general of BM adds that “the technologies used to create media products are changing a lot. Also, users’ preferences are changing drastically and at a very fast rate”.
