The first seminar of the series took place on Wednesday, December 12, 2007:

Natural language processing at Google, by Enrique Alfonseca.

The session gave an overview of several NLP works developed at Google over the past few years. It focussed on statistical machine translation and relationship extraction, among others.

Enrique Alfonseca has a PhD in Computer Science by the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, and is currently working at Google Zurich.
