European evaluation of 2020 3D Media in Barcelona

On May 20th and 21th the annual review of the European project 2020 3D Media took place in Barcelona. The 14 partners of the project, including Barcelona Media as technical and administrative coordinator, are companies and universities from all over Europe. The consortium has submitted to the assessors of the Commission the work and progress achieved during the past year.
The main objective of 2020 3D Media is the development of new technologies to support the acquisition, encoding, editing, distribution network, and the presentation of stereoscopic and immersive media, able to provide new forms of entertainment, both at home and in showrooms. Users of the resulting technologies will be the industry professionals of the media, through film, television and new media which produce contents for the general public.
