TheMediapro building, Barcelona Media's headquarters, granted the BigMat architecture prize

The Mediapro building that houses the headquarters of Barcelona Media in the 22 @ district, has won the first prize BigMat for architecture. The building, designed by the architects Carles Ferrater, Patrick Genard and Xavier Martí was nominated for the World Architecture Festival (WAF).

The jury of the III BigMat Architecture Prize, chaired by the architect Jesús Aparicio, has unanimously decided to award the first prize in the 2009 contest to emphasize the Mediapro building accurate and appropriate structural solution of the project and its strength, simplicity and multiplicity.

Barcelona Media moved to the innovation district of Barcelona on September, 1st 2008. Its headquarters are divided into three floors of the Mediapro buliding, in the site of the former textile factory Ca l'Aranyó.
