Barcelona Media is one of the technological agents in Catalonia which have unified their efforts to constitute the Catalan Technology Association, under the brand ACT. The entity is the fruit of the union of what up till now was the Technological Centre Association with the Centres of the CT Net and it will be formed, in a first instance, by 17 entities that have in common their mission of support to the R+D at the company.

One of the objectives of the initiative, according to the director of the ACT, Xavier Marginet, is “to move on from the coexistence of these technological centres to the cooperation, in order to gain critical mass and to guarantee that the creative effort made by the universities and research centres have the maximum efficiency in real growth and competitiveness of the companies”.

In the forthcoming months, it is intended that the entity agglutinates the totality of Catalan technological centres, in addition to other private and public entities with coinciding missions offering a potential of more than 1.000 researchers and technicians that work in direct contact with 5.000 companies of the Catalan area.

The association will have its headquarters at the premises of the Innovation Park La Salle (Quatre Camins, 30, Barcelona) and it will be presided, in this first stage, by Albert Vidal, managing director of the Technological Centre CETEMMSA in Mataró. The vice president of Barcelona Media, Vicente López, will be part of the Executive Board.
