BM and Dotopen organize a Mobile Monday Barcelona about the importance of the social networks in the mobile sector

The ESADE Business School Forum holds, on 1st December, the Mobile Monday Barcelona, organized by Barcelona Media and Dotopen. The session is called Mobile Social Media and turns around the importance of the social networks in the mobile sector.

The session, which has the support of Telefonica Movistar, Vodafone, Yahoo!, Barcelona Activa and ESADE Alumni, includes speeches by Matt Mikenko, manager of Ovi.com and product manager of Nokia; Panu Mustonen, founder and executive director of Ramblas Digital and Peter Versterbacka, founder of ConnectdDay.

The social networks in the mobile sector have experiencing a vertiginous growth during 2008. The big platform of social networks Facebook recently announced that its mobile webpage (m.facebook.com) has gone from 5 to 15 million users this year. The most recent change made in the platform, which allows to send comments through a status tool bar, received 1 million mobile posts in the first 24 hours.

Mobile Monday is a community of professionals of the mobile sector organized around the local networking events in more than 60 cities around the world. This open community promotes the industry of the sector and fosters the cooperation between professionals and companies providing opportunities for personal and virtual contacts.
