The Cultural Laboratory develops projects in the field of culture, intelligent leisure and tourism. The two axes of operation are:

Innovation:

The design and development of cultural projects that incorporate value, using as starting point the conjunction of three principal factors:

  • Social innovation
  • The conception of spaces, services and communications strategies using by means of the new possibilities that technologies in the media field offer.
  • The design and integrated, multi-disciplinary planning of projects and the incorporation of formulas for their administration, organisation and finance.
Transfer:

By means of the design and development of cultural projects that incorporate technological innovations from the research in which Barcelona Media participates. The main objective connected with technological transfer and innovation is interaction (the interaction between people, between people and the space, and between people and information).This is based around two general principles:

  • The conception of physical spaces and interactive virtual universes that permit advances in the strategies of museum graphics communication.
  • The personalisation of the information to be communicated by means of multi-media technology, starting the interactive relationship with the visitor-users.
