BM Seminars: Leo Wanner presents the Natural Language Processing Group at BM

Leo Wanner, professor of the Department of Information and Communication Technologies at Pompeu Fabra University, researcher at the Institució Catalana de Recerca i Estudis Avançats (ICREA) and director of Natural Language Processing Group at Barcelona Media, has presented the main research areas of the group to the assistants of the 7th October session of BM Seminars’ cycle, which are organized by Barcelona Media.
The Natural Language Processing Group is integrated by two senior members, three researchers and two doctorate students. The common research area of the group is the generation of information from abstract representations. Moreover, inside this big area, the research is focused in: automatic summarization, Language-Oriented Machine Learning or computational lexicology and lexicography.
Leo Wanner and his team has worked with several projects as MARQUIS (Multimodal and multilingual generation of air quality bulletins), PATExpert (Multilingual Paraphrasing and Summarization of Patent Claims), COLOCATE (Colocaciones y tecnologías lingüísticas: hacia un entorno de aprendizaje basado en la web) or i3media.
